On November 4th and 5th, 2009 several members of the HBA of Wayne County Board joined together along with members of the Association that were recruited to assist on 5 teams, for a membership drive. The event began with a kick off gathering on November 3rd to go over the the game plan, set our goals, and to go over any details.  The membership planning committee for the drive included our EO, Dawn Summerlin, Debra Bedford, and Sherri McDonald.  They made sure that refreshments were plentiful during the several hour planning meeting.  We all left with the motivation to make this Membership Drive a success. 

Donation were solicited to offer as incentives to our new members along with all the benefits that the HBA offers in being a member of the Association.  These incentives consisted of: Advertising on our web site, one free Delegate Pass to the 2010 21st Century Building and Expo and Conference in Charlotte ($75 value), one free month mini storage rental at Downs Mini Storage (5 x 10 size unit) or $40 toward larger size unit for first month - expires 1/5/2010 ($40 value), one free pass to Busco Beach and ATV Park for two people and 2 bikes for a day ($30 value), one free round of golf for one person at Lane Tree Golf Club ($    value), one free month rental at Security Mini Storage ($35 to $85 value - depending on size) and one free oil change at RetroLube ($30 Value).  A new member could join during our Drive for $350 and if using the incentives above, their membership dues could result in costing them nothing...thanks to the many donations we recieved by companies supporting our Industry.

The team members signed up for specific time slots during the two day event in which they made calls to potential members that they wanted to recruit.  At the end of the day on November 5th, the Membership Drive was ruled to be a success with 18 new members!

The winning team with the most new members was Ron Barrow's "The Green Team" with 6 new members.  The individual with the most new members recruited was Gary Westbrook with 4 new members.
