"We Built This County, Now Let's Build Our Future"
The Home Builders Association of Wayne County was chartered as an Affiliated Local Association with the National Association of Home Builders
on August 20, 1967. The original membership consisted of 23 members…15 builder members and 8 associates. The Home Builders Association of Wayne County was incorporated with the State of NC on June 11, 1981. Today our Association has approximately 155 members.
Known as “the voice of the housing industry,” the NAHB represents more than 205,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. NAHB is affiliated with more than 800 state and local home builders associations around the country. NAHB’s builder members will construct about 80 percent of the almost 1.6 million new housing units projected for 2002, making housing one of the largest and most powerful engines of economic growth in the country. Housing is vital to local and state economies, creating jobs and generating taxes and wages that positively influence the quality of life. Our state alone has more than 15,000 members. NAHB connects you to the power of the building industry. Ranked #11 on Forbes’ “Power 25” lobby organizations, NAHB staff works with Capitol Hill leaders to educate Congressmen on the importance of housing industry. NAHB has the strength in numbers to defeat excessive regulations and defend affordable housing initiatives – saving Builder members time and money.
